If I plan on receiving food during the distribution, what do I need to bring?2023-04-05T21:51:16+00:00

All we require is proof of Sumner County residency. This can be a driver license, utility bill, vehicle registration, etc.

Feed Sumner’s business hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A volunteer or staff member should be able to help you during these times.

If you need assistance outside these hours, please call us at 615-348-4470.

For monetary donations, checks can be made out to Feed Sumner and sent to our business address:

If you would like to give electronically:

Feed Sumner Food Bank and Ministry is in the process of receiving its 501(c)(3)status. Due to this, electronic donations must go through First Baptist Church Hendersonville until the 501(c)(3) status is approved.

100% of the money designated to Feed Sumner goes to Feed Sumner Food Bank & Ministry.

Yes! You may drop off “non-perishable” food during our business hours. We ask that you check the dates and make sure the food is not expired. Cans, boxes, and containers must be unopened and in tact.

Absolutely! Box making day is one of our favorites for people who can’t lift boxes. We also have other volunteer opportunities as well. Please contact our Director of Volunteer Services at ayork@fbchtn.org for more information.

Can I do community service hours at Feed Sumner?2024-03-05T21:37:07+00:00

Currently, we are unable to accommodate requests for community service outside of our normal events. This includes community service hours for students, civic groups, and criminal charges.

We have placed a hold on allowing any community service for criminal charges.

Do you allow groups to volunteer? i.e. connect group, school club, sports teams, etc.2023-04-05T21:49:30+00:00

Yes. Please contact our Director of Volunteer Services at ayork@fbchtn.org for more information. We try our best to accommodate all groups but volunteer service is dependent upon the needs of the food bank.

What ages can volunteer at Feed Sumner?2024-03-12T14:45:53+00:00

Ages 14 to 17

• Before your child begins volunteering, it is mandatory for their parent or legal guardian to complete a waiver form. Additionally, they must meet with the Director of Volunteer Services.

Under 14

• For safety reasons, children are not allowed to serve during distributions where moving vehicles and machinery are present. Children are welcome to participate in all other events unless otherwise specified.

• Before your child begins volunteering, it is mandatory for their parent or legal guardian to complete a waiver form. Additionally, they must meet with the Director of Volunteer Services.

• Parent of legal guardian must be with and in direct supervision of the child at all times unless otherwise noted by the Director of Volunteer Services.

Can I bring a friend or another family member with me when I volunteer?2023-09-07T14:41:35+00:00

Yes… but each person must sign up separately. This helps us keep track of our volunteers and allows us to provide a better volunteer experience.
